Oriental Belly Dance Workshops with Magdy El-Leisy

Originally from Cairo, Egypt Magdy El-Leisy is one of the world's foremost experts in the art of Arabic folk dance and a popular and famous teacher of Oriental Belly Dance. Following a highly successful career as a ballet dancer, Magdy began to concentrate on combining these skills with his knowledge of Arabic folk dance and Oriental Belly Dance to produce truly enthralling choreographies. His mission in life is to pass his knowledge and skills on to others, and he travels the world in order to do so.

Over the weekend of the 8th to 10th April 2016 we were very fortunate to be able to host a weekend of workshops in which Magdy taught Khaleegy, Baladi modern, and Isis Wings styles. There were workshops throughout the day on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and on the Saturday evening, there was a party and show.

The evening was attended by many of Sheffield's most well known dancers, and they gave performances throughout the evening as did Magdy himself. There was also some amazing drumming. It was nothing short of spectacular, and everyone enjoyed the evening.
